Privacy

Anyone using an external webproxy should be concerned about privacy. Please read this privacy policy.

When you browse via the Streamtails Service, we retain a copy of the associated transaction logs. These logs contain information such as the date and time, the visited url.

Unlike search engines and other crawlers, we do not retain a copy of the browsed content and claim no rights to the original content. This content is purged from memory after 1 hour following the successful completion of the Streamtails transaction.

All Streamtails users are able to access all the tails and associated discussion items for a specific website/document.

Your Streamtails tags are private but might be used to help other users tagging of specific websites in the future.

We don't allow other users to browse your tags.

We may build a search capability in the future. This capability would allow users to search the websites you visited. The search result list could include some of your tags and will expose the URL and associated tails.

If you do not want your website browsed via the Streamtails proxy, you should indicate so by contacting the Streamtails team. If you want to maximize the exposure of your website on the web you should not opt out of inclusion in the Streamtails functionality.

We may build other products in the future based on statistical or other analysis of the tails and websites visited through Streamtails, such as trend analysis, emerging topics or others. In no case will these products expose private data that can be linked to a user.

We may change our privacy policy in the future. If we do change the privacy policy the changes will not be retroactive to any websites that you have visited via Streamtails. We will use reasonable efforts to inform all Streamtails users of any changes to the privacy policy 30 days in advance of implementing such a change.
