Streamtails FAQ
Personal Information ?
If you want, you can fill in some personal information on your profile. Click home and find the "Account" box which has some directions. Your personal information is private by default, but you can choose to make it public.
Profiles can be browsed with the user://profile?login=peter
People who would contribute to Streamtails can get more personal recognition for it. By putting attribution in every tail, Streamtails will be providing that recognition.
When entering your personal information, you can also disable the daily feed we have been sending.
Sharing information on streamtails ?
When creating notes, you can share these with other users by using for: tags. If you want to share a note with a user with login name "peter", you'd use a tag "for:peter" (without the quotes).
Your for: tags will be remembered the next time you create a note so you have a quick way to use them.
Tails are visible to everyone. Your notes are visible only to users you shared them with. See our privacy policy http://www.streamtails.com/streamtails-privacy .
Private discussions (i.e., only visible to a group of users) are on our TODO list.
If things go wrong ?
We seem to have trouble with browser caching after some updates to Streamtails, so you may have to do a shift-reload, i.e., SHIFT+F5 or pressing shift while clicking the reload button. If that doesn't work, it may help to clear your browser cache.
If you want to leave Streamtails, click escape and the current URL will be opened outside Streamtails.
You can report websites that break in Streamtails by clicking the report broken button. We'll do our best to address the problems. Please don't hesitate to use this feature and you may get a nice surprise provided by XaoP ;-)
